Contact lenses for astigmatism

Toric lenses

Toric contact lenses correct astigmatism. For clear vision, the correction needs to be aligned in the right direction on the eye.

The fit helps the lens stay in the correct position. The animation shows what happens to vision when the lens rotates.

With astigmatism, light is refracted differently in two principal meridians. This can make letters and details appear blurred.
Schematic example, not a vision test or optical simulation. The lines are guides. Axis orientation, movement and stabilisation vary between eyes and lens designs.

At Lucid Optiek, we measure your prescription and astigmatism. With trial lenses, we check the position and movement of the lens and how clearly you see.
